I'm writing this entry on my blog, because I got pissed off with the american culture today. And I’m writing in English, because, they are like French. They don’t speak foreign languages, and get arrogantly annoyed if someone doesn't speak their language in a properly manner. And if I’m criticising their culture, I want to do in a way that an american could easily understand me, and defended his/her perspective if necessary. And of course, it's a good opportunity to practice my (almost dead) English.
I'm not telling what happened to me today, but i want just pass a little of flavour of my thoughts, concerning a little bit of everything.
Art! What is art for a American? When I do a little research on this subject, I cannot see anything, that be considered as cutting edge art. Actually some of the pieces of art (painted art) are irrelevant and bored. I went to some gallery websites, and everything looks like so superficial. No taste at all. Whatever painted on canvas, it's called art!
World. The world in America, starts in New York city, and ends up in Los Angeles. Of course, there is a “Canada” in the world, but is the nation whose-name-cannot-be-spoken-of. Even if in the states, a person can be bankrupt and dead, because of a heart decease, and in Canada it does cost a nickel to save a life. And of course, they do not know where are 99% of the nations of the world. Just because they aren’t not between NY and LA.
Communism. The evil! For an American, there are Darth Vader, Lex Luthor, and Communism. I’m not communist, by I have a difficulty to understand the “right/wrong” mentality that drives that people. Is like, every topic is either black or white. The grey doesn’t exists. Communism is evil. Period! No questions ask. Capitalism is great, no doubt on that! Even if a wealth insurance dictates if I can/cannot have that saving-life surgery. But they need to have a absolutely right or wrong mentality.
People. One of the places that I would like to visit in the world, it’s NY. But when I was in Paris, I built a theory. If I see a group, doing noisy incredibly silly things… That must be, an american turist group. But hey! Most of them doesn’t know that KFC is from Kentucky! And there is no restaurant in Paris, like… McDonalds!
Nothing against Americans (I love starbucks, hard rock café, so on...). But like every nation of the world, there is still much to progress. Even you don't believe on that.
PS: Não tenho foto no post, porque mais uma vez... Tou sem net em casa! aiii mundo cruel!
